Searching For Something

Imagine this in your mind. You are out with one of your friends. You turn around to do something, and when you turn back you can't see them anywhere. You have no phone reception so you decide to go looking for them. Meanwhile they come back, can't find you, and wander off looking for you.

Now think about this. In exactly the same way, you are searching for something which is searching for you. But you don't have all the facts yet, so you aren't looking in the right place and are making it difficult to be found. But what is it exactly you are searching for?

Everything in life is elusive...hard to find. Take respect. Respect can be as elusive as the unicorn. I know even more about respect, or the lack thereof because I live in South Africa. How about romance? Romance is like a Rabbit being chased by a Fox. It's like the elusive, fake, and never attained reward which keeps us running and thinking in circles. It's like Jeans. I am willing to travel far just for that elusive, perfect pair of jeans! Searching feels like you are trying to find that window of wellbeing that opens up when you drink your way out of a hangover and aren't yet drunk all over again. It's like trying to keep that window open.

There's always something at the end you have to find to live a full life, but it's hard to find.
